(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma college campuses may be forced to handle more students with less money.
Officials say more job layoffs mean more people are returning to school for better training. At the same time state Chancellor for Higher Education Hans Brisch says college presidents have until Friday to decide how they can cut budgets up to five percent in case tax collections keep shrinking.
Oklahoma City Community College reports an increase of about 700 students. Oklahoma State University's campus in Oklahoma City says its enrollment is up about 15 percent. The University of Oklahoma has said this year could be the first time its enrollment passes 30,000.
