As the Labor Day holiday approaches, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is warning drivers they will be watching.
Thousands of law enforcement officers in Oklahoma. Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico are joining forces to patrol the roads and monitor drivers this weekend. It’s called ‘Operation Blue Talon.’
They will be looking for anyone who is drinking and driving, driving aggressively or speeding. Hospital officials say they just want drivers to be smart. Dr Greg Gray with St Francis BA hospital, "don't drink and drive, wear your seatbelt. Make sure your kids are belted. Then take your time getting to where ever you want to go. Don't be in a rush. If you're in a hurry to get there, you're going to be in a hurry to hurt somebody and it could be yourself."
Officials say over the last three years, ‘Operation Blue Talon’ has been very successful and has resulted in a decrease of fatalities on the road.
