A discrimination lawsuit filed by black police officers against the city of Tulsa could mean millions of taxpayer dollars.

The city says prosecuting attorneys are trying to run up outrageous legal fees. The firm Bullock and Bullock claims it's owed more than $1.6-million. Both sides had hoped for a settlement. But Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune rejected a proposed deal.

If the case goes to trial, city attorneys could also demand increased fees.
