A chain reaction of events early Tuesday morning, leads to a meth lab bust.
Tulsa Police say around midnight; a woman with two kids in her truck hit a telephone pole for some reason. The pole and a live wire blocked all four lanes of Memorial, shutting it down.
While officers worked to clean that up, they say a drunk driver came barreling through. An officer in his car managed to move out of the way in time, but still damaged his cruiser. After a short chase, the driver was stopped and arrested.
That’s when officers made their discovery. Tulsa Police Captain GB Poindexter, “while we were inventorying the vehicle to be towed, we found a meth lab inside the vehicle, so pretty serious crime with the meth lab, if there had been some kind of impact with the police car, the chemicals inside the bad guys car could have exploded, could have been a bad deal.â€
The driver was arrested. The woman in the pickup and her children were taken to the hospital to be checked out, their injuries aren't serious.
