Plans are in the works to move the popular genealogy collection out of a Tulsa branch library to a shopping center.
The new location at 2200 South Sheridan will be the second storefront location for a library.
The move this November will gather the genealogy collection at one site - and frees up space in the Schusterman Benson library - home for most of the collection now. Linda Saferite, Library Director: "Customers at Schusterman Benson will gain a children’s room and more space to use, and the genealogy customers are gaining a thousand square feet of space so they will be able to double in size."
Another library project - the new Hardesty branch is a little behind schedule, but on track to open next spring. It will replace the branch near 68th and Memorial - a building about to go up for sale.
