Here's an update on some water woes for some Green Country residents. An emergency meeting by board members of Rural Water District 6 has led to plans that could mean a new water line.
The line would serve about 700 customers who were recently left high and dry, when they had no water. Before the line can be built, the districts water provider, the city of Okmulgee has to approve it. Glenn Shoaf, Rural Water District 6 board member, "The city of Okmulgee has treated us very well and unless it's detrimental to their system we see no problems."
The plan could be presented to the city by this weekend. In the meantime, residents in the area are being told to conserve as much water as possible. A boil order is also in effect.
