(Oklahoma City-AP) -- University of Tulsa has been ranked dead last by Western Athletic Conference sportswriters and broadcasters.

In the preseason football poll Boise State was ranked first followed by Louisiana Tech. Fresno State came in third, followed by Hawaii, Rice, Nevada, S-M-U, San Jose State, UTEP and Tulsa.

Last season Tulsa's record was 1-and-10 in regular season play. The Hurricanes were winless the WAC.

Louisiana Tech quarterback Luke McCown named Offensive Player of the Year. Boise State defensive back Quintin Mikell was picked as defensive player of the year.
