(Tulsa-AP) -- University of Tulsa women's golf coach Melissa McNamara is resigning to become head coach at Arizona State.

McNamara has been head coach at Tulsa for two years, having replaced her mother, Dale McNamara. She was a national champion golfer for the Golden Hurricane and a member of the 1988 national championship team and spent eleven years on the L-P-G-A tour.

McNamara calls the Arizona State program the premier women's golf program in the country and says it's the only job she would consider leaving Tulsa to accept.
