An electrical short may be to blame for a fire that killed a mother and her son. The fire broke out in Enid around six o'clock Wednesday morning. Firefighters found the bodies of 28-year-old Candy Benson and her seven-year-old son Randy in the home. The father was outside the home with four other children. Neighbors say he frantically tried to save them but couldn't. Firefighters found one smoke detector in the house... it didn't have a battery.
