An inspection of Oklahoma's county jails shows a number of violations. Out off 77 county jails, only 28 passed with good marks or minor incidents.
Several jails in Northeastern Oklahoma failed health inspections. Some of the larger ones are, Tulsa, Muskogee, Washington, Creek, and Wagoner counties.
36% of jails have been cited for structural decay, including plumbing problems and fire code violations. 35% percent of jails were cited for improper sanitary practices and health code violations.
