(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Senior citizens will soon have to pay a little more to use Oklahoma's state parks.
The Oklahoma Tourism Commission has decided to do away with a 50 percent senior discount for recreational and camping fees.
Instead, seniors will get a flat two-dollar discount.
Tourism Executive Director Jane Jayroe says she's not happy about having to make the change, but says the department can't afford to provide the 50 percent discount.
The Tourism Commission is facing a 750-thousand-dollar budget cut in the next fiscal year.
Jayroe says the change is expected to result in an extra 350-thousand dollars for the parks system.
The discount is for people 62 and older. The rate takes effect June 28th.
