OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Attorney General Drew Edmondson filed testimony on Tuesday that asks for a $105.9 million rate decrease from Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co.
The case before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission began when OG&E asked the commission for a rate increase of $22 million, about half of which would allow the company to upgrade security
Later, the company amended its petition to reflect a rate increase request of about $11.7 million.
Experts hired by the attorney general's office disagreed with the company's justifications for increasing rates and instead proposed a rate reduction.
``The decrease we request reflects a rate reduction of about nine and one-half percent,'' Edmondson said. ``These numbers constitute a substantial savings for Oklahoma ratepayers.''
