(Webbers Falls, Oklahoma-AP) -- The FBI- is investigating a man who called himself an Army captain and looked through a victim's briefcase and laptop computer at last month's bridge collapse.

The briefcase and computer belonged to Army Captain Andrew Clements who died in the Arkansas River. A fisherman found the items and gave them to police. Officers gave them to a man wearing military fatigues who showed up within two hours of Clements' death.

The man identified himself as Captain William Clark and gave the briefcase and computer to Mayor Jewell Horne. Horne says Clark asked her to put the briefcase and computer in the town safe, then asked her for the key. Horne says she wouldn't give it to him.

FBI spokesman Gary Johnson says the man obtained goods and services in Arkansas by impersonating a rescue worker.
