(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State University is removing the interim label from the title of softball coach Margaret Rebenar.

OSU associate athletic director Ann Baer is recommending to the board of regents that Rebenar be named head coach.

Rebenar was named interim head coach after coach Sandy Fischer was fired last year and led the Cowgirls to a 29-and-23 record this season.

Rebenar has spent 23 seasons at Oklahoma State, 13 as an assistant coach and nine as associate coach before being named interim coach last year.
