(Oklahoma City-AP) -- An American Indian statue is already getting high visibility six days before it's scheduled to be hoisted atop the state Capitol's dome.
It drew its first admirers today on the Capitol's north steps. The 17-foot, six-thousand pound bronze warrior was designed by artist and state Senator Kelly Haney. It will be the first American Indian figure to top a state Capitol.
This week is the last chance most people will have to touch the statue before it's taken down and cleaned in 100 years.
About 70 percent of the 21 (M) million dollar dome project is being paid for with private donations.
