A piece of land that wasn't living up to its potential, may be soon. Ground was broken Friday at a former Brownfield site at 1200 North Peoria.

It will become the new home of Brainerd Chemical sometime this fall. Brownfield sites are industrial or commercial property that may be environmentally contaminated.

This piece of land was the home of Oklahoma Steel Castings from 1922 through the mid-80's.
