(Upper Arlington, Ohio-AP) -- Oklahoma State's Hunter Mahan finished third at the NCAA golf championships Saturday.

Mahan shot a one-over 72 to wind up two shots behind champion Troy Matteson of Georgia Tech.

Oklahoma State finished 16th in the team race.

Tulsa began Saturday's final round just one shot off the lead but finished in a tie for ninth, 16 shots behind Minnesota.

The Gophers won their first national title, just two months after the program was targeted for elimination.
