(Weatherford-AP) -- The Weatherford school district is appealing a ruling by state education officials to the federal government.

The Oklahoma Department of Education claims Weatherford misspend federal Title One money. The state has ordered the district to repay 117-thousand dollars.

The money is intended to let schools help aid poverty-level students academically. The state says Weatherford used the money to buy 90 computers and to pay the salaries of two computer teachers.

Last week, the state Education Department turned over financial documents to its federal counterpart to decide the matter.
