LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Lee Williamson and Chris Mayson finished in two of the top three positions as Purdue claimed a tie for first with Oklahoma State on Saturday at the NCAA central regional tournament.
Those two teams and eight more now move on to the NCAA championships on May 29-June 1 at the Ohio State-Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
Purdue made up a one-stroke deficit Saturday to gain the tie with the Cowboys, who held the lead through the first two rounds.
Both teams finished with a three-day total of 865, one-over on the par-72, 7,103 yard Pleasant Valley Country Club course. Tulsa was 11 strokes back at 876 in third-place.
Another three strokes back at 879 was Illinois to claim fourth.
The other six teams that qualified for the national tournament were North Carolina State, 880; Toledo, 881; Baylor, 882; TCU, 885; Virginia Tech, 885; and Colorado, 886.
Williamson shot an even-par 72 Saturday to go with earlier rounds of 70 and 67 and claim individual honors with a three-round total of 209, seven under par.
Mayson's 73-65-73-211 tied for second with TCU's Bret Guetz, 68-72-71-211.
