More than $126,000 has been raised for the city-wide 'Pools for Kids' effort. That's the latest figure from the Tulsa Parks and Recreation department.
Meanwhile, there's another cause that's bringing together north side religious and business leaders. Tuesday afternoon, Pastor Carlton Pearson asked for donations to keep a North Tulsa day camp open. "So churches and businesses can do it. We can raise this money ourselves trying to go thru foundations and grants and writing letters and jumping through hoops. We can do some of that but we need some quick money."
Pearson says donations will be spent to maintain the Amos T Hall swimming pool this summer.
