A suspect is arrested in a string of attempted robberies early Monday.
Tulsa Police say around one-fifteen Monday morning, a man demanded money from the clerk at the Country Inn at 1034 North Garnett. The man didn't get anything, but ran off instead. A few minutes later, police were called to a Quik Trip at Pine and Mingo. The same man demanded money, but again got away with nothing.
Police say the man then approached several American Airlines employees as they got off work. That didn't work either, so he ran off on foot. Police captured him a short time later after a fourth attempted robbery failed. Tulsa Police Captain Nick Hondros, "The suspect was unsuccessful on each of the four attempts. The suspect uh verbally confessed to attempting to uh commit the armed robberies, stated in fact he needed gas money."
Hondros says the 38-year-old suspect implied at each place that he had a weapon, but it was never seen. His name hasn't bee released.
