Some Southwestern Bell employees in Oklahoma are losing their jobs. The company's cut 10,000 jobs in the past two quarters, and says more cuts will be made in areas that don't affect customer service.

Workers in Little Rock have received notification that the next round of cuts would total around 500 or more across Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas.

Union officials cited regulatory issues and competition as the reasons for the cuts.
