Good health begins early in life. That’s the idea behind St Francis Hospital's ‘Kids Are Special People’ day.
Nearly 800 third graders learned about personal health and wellness at the hospital. Traveling between tents on the hospital lawn, the kids found out about clean air, safe exercise and good nutrition. Volunteer, Clara Blades, "They're our future so we want these kids to be careful with what they eat because we expect them to be our helpers in the years to come."
St Francis volunteers helped make Wednesday's program a success. The ‘Kids Are Special People’ day started nearly 20 years ago.
