Two puppies are dead, dozens more infected with disease. One animal rights group from Florida says some Oklahoma dog breeders are to blame.
Driver David McCord of Ketchum, Oklahoma, was delivering the 38 puppies to an Orlando pet store last week. He and another man were ticketed outside a Florida motel after authorities say they discovered his dirty delivery van packed with puppies inside.
Now two of the pure-breeds are dead, as many as five more are under intensive treatment at the Halifax Humane Society. The director there says federal animal welfare charges may be filed against the driver as well as the Oklahoma animal breeders.
