(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma freshman David Purcey is Phillips 66 Big 12 pitcher of the week.
Purcey made the first two starts of his collegiate career last week and went 2-and-0 with an 0.69 ERA and 13 strikeouts.
Purcey pitched six innings against TCU and struck out five Frogs while allowing just one run on five hits.
He pitched seven frames against Oral Roberts, struck out eight batters and allowed three unearned runs.
Purcey has six saves on the season, which is the most ever for an OU freshman and sixth-highest for Oklahoma pitchers in a single season.
