OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The state Corporation Commission elected Denise Bode as chairwoman of the three-member panel Friday.
Bode, currently vice-chair of the commission, will assume her post July 2.
``I am honored to be elected chairman of the commission at this crucial time in our state history,'' Bode said. ``I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues and staff, as well as the businesses we regulate, to ensure Oklahomans are better off in the future as a result of our actions.''
Bode was appointed to the commission in 1997 and was elected in 1998 to a full six-year term. She is past president of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and is a tax attorney.
Current commission chairman Bob Anthony will become vice-chair.
