(Oklahoma City) -- A citizens group plans to demonstrate at the state Capitol this week for better nursing homes.
A Perfect Cause was formed by California resident Wes Bledsoe. Bledsoe's grandmother died last year after a stay in an Oklahoma nursing home.
The family has sued Southern Oaks Manor claiming a botched medical procedure contributed to her death.
Bledsoe says there's a long-term care crisis in Oklahoma and across the nation. He says the demonstration isn't to bash the nursing home industry, but is to call for accountability.
He says Thursday's demonstration will feature as speakers several nursing home reform advocates and lawmakers, including U.S. Representative Brad Carson.
Bledsoe says the public is invited to the rally, which starts at ten AM.
