(Tulsa-AP) -- A two vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Tulsa has left one person dead. The victim's name hasn't been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a car driven at a high rate of speed by the victim on Interstate 44 clipped a guard rail, overturned and slid about 40 feet. The car was then hit by another vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with head and leg injuries.
The crash occurred about 12:45 Tuesday morning and forced the closing of eastbound lanes of I-44 for nearly two hours.
