(Charlotte-AP) -- Miami linebacker Dan Morgan spent part of his collegiate career chasing Florida State quarterback Chris Weinke. Thanks to the Carolina Panthers and a sports agent, Morgan's chase is over.

Both Morgan and Weinke were selected by the Panthers in the NFL draft. They were both in the team's minicamp last week, although a hamstring injury kept Morgan from participating.

As camp came to a close yesterday, Weinke climbed into a golf cart so he could ride from the practice field back to Ericsson Stadium. He asked the driver to wait for Morgan so the two could ride back together.

When the two reported to a pre-draft workout in Florida last month, both allowed agent Tom Condon to take care of their living arrangements. Condon put the two in the same apartment.

Morgan says it was awkward at first, but he says the two are becoming good friends.
