Thirteen indicted on drug charges

TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ A yearlong investigation by state and federal law officers has culminated in the arrests of 10 people on cocaine distribution charges, authorities said.

A federal indictment unsealed Friday accused 13 people in all of engaging in a conspiracy between October 1999 and March to bring multi-kilos of cocaine into the Tulsa area for distribution, U.S. Attorney Thomas Scott Woodward announced.

Members of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force executed arrest and search warrants in the Tulsa area Friday morning. Ten were taken into custody.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and members of the Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs and Sapulpa police departments participated in the arrests.

Gerry Herring; James Hiriames; Meldon Allen; Paul Brantley; Ivan Leroy Brantley Jr.; William Lee Taylor; Jacinda Carlis; William Gist; Tiffany Brown; Elijah Bullard; Bobby Franklin Miller; Keith Price and Chad Colbert were named in the indictment.
