(Daytona Beach, Florida-AP) -- The doctor who said a faulty seat belt might have been responsible for NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt's death now says he might have too quick in blaming the restraint system.
Doctor Steve Bohannon says he ``speculated more'' than he should have at the time. He has since withdrawn his assumption, now that a court-appointed medical expert has issued a report.
Doctor Barry Myers of Duke University has studied Earnhardt's autopsy photos. He has said the race driver's neck snapped violently forward when his car hit the Daytona wall at 180 miles an hour.
