(Muskogee-AP) -- A former Pittsburg County employee is suing the county for one (m) million dollars, claiming her civil rights were violated.

Cindy Crabtree alleges in the federal lawsuit that she was fired last April for telling prosecutors that her boss was embezzling funds.

Crabtree says she told first an assistant prosecutor and later a county commissioner that her boss at the county's Office of Emergency Services was taking money from petty cash.

She says she was fired after refusing to resign when threatened with an embezzlement charge.

A settlement conference on the lawsuit is to be held on April 19th.
