OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Five Oklahoma companies placed in Fortune 500's annual list of the nation's top corporations.
Bartlesville-based Phillips Petroleum ranked the highest among Oklahoma companies, coming in at No. 89. Phillips pulled in $21.277 billion in 2000, moving from 126 in last year's list.
Coming in second was Tulsa-based Williams, which moved from 215 last year to 168 this year. Williams had revenues of $11.480 billion in 2000.
Next was Tulsa-based Oneok, the parent company of Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. Oneok moved from 736 on last year's list to 280 this year. It reported revenues of $6.642 billion.
Kerr-McGee moved up from 547 to 405 in this year's rankings. The Oklahoma City-based company raked in $4.121 billion in revenue in 2000.
OGE Energy moved up to 483rd in the ranking from 638 last year. The Oklahoma City-based company had revenues of $3.298 billion last year.
Oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp., based in Irving, Texas, rose to No. 1 from No. 3 with the company's highest-ever $210 billion in revenue for 2000.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc., based in Bentonville, Ark., was ranked second with revenues of $193.295 billion last year.
General Motors Corp., which had revenue of $184.6 billion, fell to No. 3.
