A grandmother's fight for justice is in full swing. KOTV's Lori Fullbright says Madge Colbert and her husband are asking people to sign a petition that would convene a Tulsa County grand jury to investigate her granddaughter's death.
Colbert's granddaughter, Rachel Clayton, was found dead in a bathroom in Jenks two years ago. Colbert believes the evidence points to murder and a suspect, but Tulsa County DA Tim Harris says there are not enough grounds to file charges.
Colbert says she realizes a grand jury may agree with Harris but, hopes it will be otherwise. "I will still be sad, but, it will be better to know I put my all into it. But, I hope the grand jury will make a good judgment." If Colbert gets enough signatures to convene a grand jury, Tim Harris and his entire staff at the DA's office would be disqualified from the proceedings.
Colbert now has 45 days to collect 5,000 signatures.
