First baseman Greg Dobbs went 5-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored on Wednesday to power Oklahoma to a 7-2 non- conference baseball win over Texas-Arlington.
Dobbs' two-run double in the top of the third inning gave the visiting Sooners (10-18) the lead for good. He singled and scored a run in the sixth and had RBI singles to key two-run innings in both the eighth and ninth.
Jason Bartlett, Matt Fisher and Sergio Garcia had two hits apiece for Oklahoma, which pounded 14 hits off three UTA pitchers.
Austin Coose, the third of six Sooner pitchers, improved to 2-2 with the win. Darrell Preston (2-1) took the loss for UTA.
Arkansas 5, Centenary 0: Arkansas' Brett Hagedorn hit a three-run home run and three Razorback pitchers combined on a 10-hit shutout at Shreveport, La.
Hagedorn, a second baseman, blasted his third homer of the season in the eighth off losing pitcher Jeff Poulin (1-3).
Jeff Hoefler and Jeff Fletcher drove in runs for the Razorbacks (14-12) in the first off Poulin. Starter Justin Leraris (1-0) went six innings for Arkansas. He allowed seven hits, two walks and struck out three. Jonathan Rich mond followed, allowing two hits in two innings, and Josh Merryman pitched the ninth for UA.
Bobby Gilliam had three hits for Centenary (8-17-1).
