Turner Broadcasting Systems or TBS is dumping wrestling in favor of "Friends."
The Cable network has decided to get rid of World Championship Wrestling so it can attract more affluent TV viewers with reruns of shows like "Friends" and "Seinfeld." Press relations at TBS are saying that the WCW has been put on hiatus.
Wrestling helped put TBS on the map when it was first starting out in the 70s. Putting WCW on hiatus was one of the first big programming decisions made by the network's new boss.
