LOS ANGELES – It will take more than 15 Minutes to knock The Mexican out of first place at the box office.

The mob comedy, starring Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini of television's The Sopranos, remained in first place with $12.1 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The crime thriller 15 Minutes, starring Robert De Niro and Edward Burns as a homicide detective and an arson investigator tracking a couple of Eastern European immigrants on a killing spree, overcame mixed to poor reviews to debut with a respectable $10.5 million.

The gross-out comedy See Spot Run held the third-place spot at $6.6 million.

The hairstylist-competition comedy Blow Dry, which opened Wednesday, took in $250,000 in 157 theaters.

Here are the estimated weekend totals for the top 10 films:

1. The Mexican- $12.1 million
2. 15 Minutes- $10.5 million
3. See Spot Run- $6.6 million
4. Hannibal- $5.7 million
5. Down to Earth- $5.5 million
6. Get Over It- $4.4 million
7. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon- $4.3 million
8. Traffic- $3.9 million
9. Chocolat- $3.8 million
10. Recess: School's Out- $2.2 million
