COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Joe Daniels, the University of Cincinnati's offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, was picked Tuesday as Ohio State's quarterbacks and receivers coach.
Daniels, 58, coached at East Stroudsburg, Boston College, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Akron before joining the Cincinnati staff in 1997.
The Bethel Park, Pa., native spent three seasons as the receivers coach of the Cleveland Browns before coaching the same position with the Buffalo Bills for two seasons. He was also the New York Jets quarterbacks coach for three years before entering private business in 1992.
Daniels coached Cincinnati's running backs in 1997 and the wide receivers the next two years before being elevated to offensive coordinator and assistant head coach before the start of the 2000 season.
