(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The director of the I-G-A U-S Indoors tennis tournament says Serena Williams may play in the Oklahoma City event that begins next week.
Sara Fornaciari says she's received an e-mail from the seventh-ranked Williams' representative asking that a wild-card spot be held open for her.
Fornaciari puts the odds of Williams playing in Oklahoma City at 50-50.
Williams would be the fourth top-ten player in the tournament, along with fourth-ranked and defending champion Monica Seles. Also entered are number six Jennifer Capriati and number ten Amanda Coetzer.
Williams hasn't played in an event since the Australian Open in mid-January while she recovers from fatigue.
