(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa police have arrested a Tulsa man who's suspected of throwing a punch during a bar fight that led to the death of a woman.

Police officer Lucky Lamons said today that Charles Ed Fowler was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in the death of Melanie Elizabeth Adams.

Lamons says Adams and Fowler got into a fight at Daddy Dee's Beehive Lounge in Tulsa on January 31st and Adams was hit one time.

Adams' injury didn't appear life-threatening at the time and she later left the bar with another woman.

Adams was found dead in her car early the next day from an apparent blow to the head.

Her death is the first homicide in Tulsa in 2001.
