(Scottsdale, Arizona-AP) -- Edmond native and former Oklahoma State golfer Scott Verplank won $192,000 after finishing fourth in this weekend's Phoenix Open.

Verplank shot a four round total of 14-under par, 270 during the P-G-A event in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mark Calcavecchia won the tournament by eight strokes with a record-setting 28-under par, 256. Calcavecchia's round breaks the record for the lowest score in a 72 hole tournament that was set in 1955 by Mike Souchak in the Texas Open.
