(Miami-AP) -- Arrests are expected next week in the beating of a college student from Tulsa.

Authorities say 20-year-old Jason Warden remains in serious condition following Sunday night's beating. He remains unconscious and unable to tell authorities what happened.

Fred DeMier is a prosecutor in Ottawa County. DeMier says investigators think he was beaten with a hammer handle, fists and feet, and that he took many blows to the head.

Warden was found unconscious on the athletic practice field on the east side of Northeastern Oklahoma A-and-M College. He was taken by helicopter to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri.

Authorities say the investigation centers around three Northeastern students -- one woman and two men.
