(Tulsa-AP) -- A review by the Oklahoma State Department of Health found that several patients who went Parkside Hospital in Tulsa were not examined by a physician.

The patients had claimed to hear voices and have suicidal thoughts.

State health officials say the results of the review are among the reasons the hospital is losing its Medicare provider status beginning tomorrow.

Acting Parkside C-E-O Bill McDonald declined comment on the report. He said earlier that the results of the Health Department's reviews were procedural and patient safety was not threatened.

Parkside officials say they will immediately file for Medicare certification. The hospital also has 60 days file a protest of the decision to cancel its Medicare certification.
