(Yale-AP) -- The relatives of two women who were killed by an alleged drunk driver are settling a lawsuit accusing an Oilton police officer of negligence.

An attorney for the relatives of Amber Pope and Caris Dawes says terms of the settlement are not being disclosed.

The two were killed more than two years ago when their car was hit by a truck driven by Dustin Dewayne Robinson. Prosecutors say Robinson was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The lawsuit claimed officer Marvin Baumgartner came into contact with Robinson before the wreck and told him to park his truck.

The lawsuit claimed Baumgartner knew or should have known that Robinson was intoxicated and unfit to operate a vehicle.

Robinson is now serving a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of manslaughter.
