ENID, Okla. (AP) -- Drug charges have been filed against a Garfield County couple whose alleged drug use was reported by their 12-year-old daughter.
James and Robin Braun were charged Thursday with possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a child under 12 and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Brauns were arrested Tuesday after sheriff's deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant at their home, according to court documents.
The couple's daughter had called the principal at Pioneer/Pleasant Vale Elementary School and said she was bringing in drugs she had found at home, the affidavit states. The principal notified the sheriff's department.
The girl told deputies her parents smoke marijuana regularly when they fight, usually making their three children leave the house.
She said she took a small amount of a green leafy substance from a plate in the living room of the family's home, according to the affidavit. The substance tested positive for marijuana, the affidavit states.
The Brauns each posted $1,000 bond and are due back in court on Feb. 5.
