GROVE, Okla. (AP) -- A Grove man arrested for allegedly holding his girlfriend captive and torturing her for two weeks is being held in the Delaware County Jail on $2.75 million bond.
The woman, 19, managed to escape from Terry Dale Ramsey, 35, as he slept on Saturday. She fled to a neighbor, who contacted the woman's parents and took her to the emergency room, officials said.
Shortly thereafter, officials arrested Ramsey at his mobile home, where the torture allegedly occurred.
The victim later was released from the hospital.
Delaware County authorities allege Ramsey shot the woman twice with a 9 mm gun and beat her with a rubber hose, clubs and his fists.
They allege he also kept the woman gagged and chained to a bed, set her on fire and choked her until she lost consciousness.
The woman also told investigators Ramsey forced her head onto a lighted stove, burning her face and hair, and then doused her with camp fuel and muriatic acid and set her on fire.
Following his arrest, officers searched Ramsey's mobile home and seized ropes, chains, locks, firearms and chemicals associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine, authorities said.
