(Denver-AP) -- An Oklahoma woman sentenced to die for killing a woman she believed had wronged her son has lost her latest appeal.

The U-S Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver today upheld a lower court's ruling that affirmed Lois Nadean Smith's 1982 conviction.

Smith was convicted of first-degree murder for the July 4th, 1982, stabbing and shooting death of 21-year-old Cindy Baillee in Sequoyah County.

Baillee was the girlfriend of Smith's son, Greg. Baillee had allegedly made threats to have Greg Smith killed.

Court records show Smith stabbed Baillee in the throat and then took her to Smith's ex-husband's home where she shot her several times and jumped up and down on her throat.
