(Tulsa-AP) -- Motorists won't have to pay to use the Creek West Turnpike extension the first four days it's open.
The five-mile stretch of roadway is scheduled to open tomorrow morning.
Lu Richardson is a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. She says drivers won't have to the pay the regular 30-cent fee to use the extension until Monday afternoon.
She hopes offering a free drive will encourage more people to try out the new road.
Governor Keating and Transportation Secretary Neal McCaleb are scheduled to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the highway at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. The ceremony will take place at the intersection of the eastbound Creek West Turnpike and Oklahoma 66 in Sapula.
The extension opens up 13 miles of turnpike across south Tulsa.
