(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma co-defensive coordinator Mike Stoops says he hasn't spoken officially with University of Virginia officials about their vacant head coaching job.

However, the brother of head coach Bob Stoops says he would listen if contacted.

Virginia coach George Welsh resigned this week after 19 years and media has listed Mike Stoops as a possible candidate for the job.

Stoops says he respects both Welsh and Virginia athletic director Terry Holland, saying they run good program.
