(New York-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is adding The Associated Press' College Coach of the Year award to his growing collection of awards.
Stoops was named today as the winner of the award in balloting by A-P member newspaper, television and radio stations.
Stoops needed just two years to turn around the one-time college football power that had fallen on hard times.
The Sooners have just completed a perfect, 12-and-oh, regular season and will play Florida State in the Orange Bowl for the national title.
Stoops received 41 of the 91 votes, finishing ahead of South Carolina's Lou Holtz and Dennis Erickson of Oregon State.
It's the second A-P national award in two weeks for the Sooners. Last week O-U quarterback Josh Heupel (HY'-pehl) was selected the A-P College Player of the Year.
